Q. How long will the swimming pools at Hillsborough Leisure Centre be closed for?
A. Both the leisure pool and lane pool will be closed from Monday 20th February and will reopen in the Summer 2023.
Q. Is it just the swimming pools that will be closed?
A. The maintenance work requires us to close the pool hall, so this includes the closure of both swimming pools, the poolside café, party room and changing village. The planned maintenance work only effects the pool hall and should not impact the rest of the venue and so customers can still enjoy access to the gym, fitness classes and sports hall.
Q. What maintenance work is being completed?
A. The planned maintenance work will affect the pool hall only. In order to complete the work, the pools are required to be drained so that we can replace water filtration systems, pumps and control panels. This will ensure that all features in the pool continue to operate as required.
Q. Where can I swim whilst the pools at Hillsborough Leisure Centre is closed?
A. Swimming is available at Concord Sports Centre, Heeley Swimming Pool, Ponds Forge, Springs Leisure Centre and Westfield Sports Centre. All our venues offer a variety of sessions including lane swimming, just swim, ladies only and splash sessions.
Surf City leisure pool at Ponds Forge offers feature packed swimming with waves, lazy river and dedicated baby pool. Surf City is open weekends and during the school holidays.
