Q, When will the swimming pool at Heeley Swimming Pool & Gym close?

A. The swimming pool will be closed from Monday 23rd October 2023.

Q. How long will the swimming pool at Heeley Swimming Pool & Gym be closed for? 

A. The swimming pool will be closed from Monday 23rd October and will be closed for approximately 6-7 weeks; we are hoping to reopen the pool by mid-December.

Q. Is it just the swimming pool that will be closed?

A. The planned maintenance work only requires the pool hall to be closed.  Customers can still enjoy access to the gym. 

Q. Where can I swim whilst the pool at Heeley Swimming Pool & Gym is closed?

A. Swimming is available at Concord Sports Centre, Hillsborough Leisure Centre, Ponds Forge, Springs Leisure Centre and Westfield Sports Centre. All our venues offer a variety of sessions including lane swimming, just swim, ladies only and splash sessions.

Q. What maintenance work is being completed?

A. The work includes essential maintenance to the air handling and extraction system, as well as the pool lining.

Q. Will my membership fee be reduced following the closure of the swimming pools at Heeley Swimming Pool & Gym?

A. Our fitness memberships include swimming at all venues as standard. Whilst swimming won’t be available at Heeley Swimming Pool & Gym during the maintenance work, you will be able to swim at our other venues as part of your membership and therefore, your membership fee will not be reduced.

Q. I only use swimming at Heeley Swimming Pool & Gym and I’m not interested in using another venue, what are my options?

A. Members will have the option to freeze their membership free of charge due to the pool closure. This freeze will cover the duration of the maintenance work from the pool closure date. All memberships will automatically reactivate as the pool reopens.To freeze your membership click here and complete our online form.
